Price: Starts at $65.95

We're back with more of one of our top ranked and reviewed wine clubs. In our last review, we tried a beautiful Classic Gift Series, but it's been almost a year now, and it's about time we try all of the levels of membership to compare and contrast.

We’re back with more of one of our top ranked and reviewed wine clubs. In our last review, we tried a beautiful Classic Gift Series, but it’s been almost a year now, and it’s about time we try all of the levels of membership to compare and contrast. Wine of the Month Club offers five genuinely wonderful tiers of tasty wine clubs: Classic Series, Vintners Series, Limited Series, California Series, and Cellar Series. They also have a Case Option, which gets you a combination (your choice). While we’d only previously experienced a gift Classic Series membership, this year we went all out, and have video reviews of every series offered.

As you may know, Wine of the Month Club was the first monthly wine club, founded in 1972 and has never given up on it’s value of phenomenal customer service and even better wines. The Wine of the Month Club is run by Paul Kalemkiarian, whose father started the wine club in 1972. Reviewing this many of their club series, we have now concluded that you just cannot go wrong with them. Actually, the one time we did we had a replacement bottle at our door in two weeks. That was just because we didn’t like the taste of one of the bottles.

Overall Rating: ★★★★★
Excellent all around for their wine quality, education, customer service, and pricing! We love that they are 100% satisfaction guaranteed…meaning if you don’t like a wine, just call them and they’ll ship you a different one at no cost. They are also very quick to respond to messages and phone calls, and we have had a superb experience with them. Also, extra points for their creative and retro treasure chest shipping box! It was also easy to cancel (we chose to keep our WOMC Vintner’s Membership out of the five we tested.)

Wine Quality: ★★★★★
Every bottle of wine from this club has been tasted and pre-screened out of hundreds others by a highly acclaimed panel of professional wine tasters. They select wines out of 400 every month. With such high standards and rigorous tasting, you can be sure that they only ship the very best wines. If you get just one you don’t like, you get a free replacement right away. They claim to have “Raving Fan Reviews” and that is what we have become.

Wine Education: ★★★★★
Every shipment comes with tasting notes, specific wine info, and even small binder for organizing all your tasting notes. Wine of the Month Club has excellent and detailed wine information. You will learn each wine’s distinctive taste, nose, bouquet, and aroma, as well as an engaging history behind each wine’s vineyard and the people involved in crafting it. Recently it was updated to be quite a bit shorter, but still includes pairings and interesting wine information.

Pricing: ★★★★★
For the quality of their wines and the detailed information you get, the price is excellent!
With the Cellar Series, you receive a 6 bottle shipment every other month. You can choose 4 reds and 2 whites, or all reds or all whites, for $65.95. That’s $10.99 a bottle, which is pretty good, considering how much your local wine shop would charge for a wine of equal quality.
