Featured Wine: Poderi Angelini Fiano, Salento

Love of Fiano

This week, The New York Times Wine Club is featuring a very particular wine. For three days, they are featuring their 2014 Poderi Angelini Fiano, Salento. Considered a “classical vine”, fiano has been very widely planted in Southern Italy and thrived until Phylloxera got to it. After being nearly extinct, Fiano was brought back to life in the 70’s. Has a nose and palate of green apple, lemon, orange, almonds and some floral components as well. It is finished with just enough acidity and is capped off with a beautiful aroma. For three days, this wine is available for 20% off (member price) and 10% off for non members. Get it while it’s hot, this rare number will not last long. Buy it here.
