One of the things I love about the California Wine Club is that they come out with some very useful tips on wine. This month they’re raising the bar even further by educating everyone on the proper ways to store wine. Here’s what you need to know…

3 Things Destroy Wine
The three main enemies of both red and white wine are heat, light and motion. Avoid these three things at all cost! NEVER store your wine in direct sunlight or anywhere it might get jostled.

Best Way To Store Wine
The best way to store your wine is in a dark room or enclosed space that keeps a constant temperature between 58 degrees and 62 degrees. Wine cellars are perfect for this, but wine coolers will do the trick as well. The one place you should NEVER place your wine is on top of the refrigerator. It gets too hot up there and the wine is constantly being jostled around as you open and close the fridge door.
